I am a 5'10" outside and right side hitter for the McCutcheon High School Volleyball team, I continue to improve my volleyball skills, and I strive to excel both on the court and in the classroom. If you are looking for a focused 6 rotation player in your 2016 recruiting class, then I may be a great fit for your team. Thank you for viewing my profile, and I look forward to the opportunity to play at the college level.
Although I classify myself as an outside attacker, I am not limited to that one position. Up until this last club season, I have mainly played in the front row, but I continue to improve my defensive and passing skills to play in the back row. My mindset is to play wherever the coach and team need me, and to give maximum effort. At the end of the 2015 club season, I am now playing all the way around, and as one college coach said this Summer at camp----she has to be on the court at all times! If you saw me play early in the club season---you should see me now! As one coach said, most players level out----not me----I strive and work hard to improve each season.
In 2014, I moved from our hometown club in Lafayette to Circle City in Plainfield, IN. During the off-season, I have become somewhat of a "gym rat" to improve and refine my overall volleyball skills---taking individual lessons for hitting, serving, and defense. Also, I did "BURST" agility training at Circle prior to the 2015 season, and plan to do the same this year. I enjoy this sport, and I want to be in top shape to help my team.
I have a very determined mindset in the aspect of working hard during practice and games. This hard work and positive attitude was recognized when I received the McCutcheon Volleyball David Ellison Mental Attitude Award in 2013 and the Most Improved Player Award in 2014. I was also selected by the coaches during my junior year to be a team captain with two of my senior teammates, and I am a senior captain this year.
In the 2013 and 2014 season, I was a two sport athlete---playing both basketball and volleyball. There were several days where I finished one practice, got into the car to ride to Indy, and completed my homework during the trip. From this experience, I acquired the important skill of time management, and my grades continue to be a top priority. I currently have a 3.81 GPA, and I am taking Honors and Dual Credit classes. Also, I completed the SAT in the fall of my junior year, and I recently completed the ACT in September 2015.
My future plans are to play volleyball in college and to study in the field of business or pre-law. Thank you again for viewing my profile, and I look forward to discussing the opportunity of helping your college team excel both on the court and in the classroom.
