Personal Statement
From birth, I was in a volleyball filled environment. My mother is my inspiration to play the sport. I have been playing volleyball since the eighth grade. Practicing with adults for eight months helped me to succeed in tryouts my freshman year and come out as the only starting freshman on the varsity team. Not only my coaches, but also coaches from opposing teams tell me that my movement has surpassed the Division II level in the Pacific. I believe in "sacrificing your body", to dive for every ball that can be saved.
What separates me from other recruits is my selflessness and heart. I put my team before myself no matter what. I never lose my love for the game, I stay motivated and determined to achieve greater. I am a team leader who leads by example and strives to encourage my teammates to achieve "The Better"; better passes, sets, hits, blocks, coverage, etc. I work hard on every and any drill that my coaches tell me to perform. My response to you will be "Yes, Coach." I give 120 percent to improve in any skill, yet there is always room for more. I'm not prepared to end my volleyball career my senior year of high school. I strive to continue to the next level, working my way up to the top. Playing at the collegiate level is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could potentially turn my life around.
Being a military child disciplined me to put education as a top priority from a young age. Throughout my whole life, starting from kindergarten to high school, I have never had less than a 3.0 GPA whether it be for a quarter, a semester, or an entire school year. I am determined to maintain a high GPA. I understand that balancing college athletics and education can be burdensome, but I believe that I am able to maintain my high GPA. Discovering the right college for me is among the highest level of priority. I would like to receive astounding education while playing competitive volleyball. My goal is to become a leading physician's assistant, a role model that all can look up to and make all of my supporters proud.
