Personal Statement
Ever since I was a little girl I have loved games, you name it I would want to play for hours. I love competition! When I had an opportunity to play volleyball in junior high, I immediately fell in love with the sport. I would ask my dad to play every day, never being the first one to say that it was time to quit and go in for the night. It was readily apparent that volleyball was and would continue to be a passion of mine!
I am a perfectionist. Being a sport of errors volleyball makes me strive for constant improvement in minimizing those errors to help my team succeed. There is no better feeling than swinging my hardest for that “slamming to the floor” kill or that block that drops the ball right to the floor of the opponents feet. Although I am competitive. You will usually find me smiling on and off the volleyball court! :)
I play volleyball for DesMoines Christian School (DMCS) and for Ohana Volleyball Club. Making and starting on the DMCS Varsity High School volleyball team as a freshman was a dream come true, showing hard work and dedication pays off. Becoming the Class2A Conference Champs that year was a great way to end the season.
I hope to continue that love of volleyball to the next level beyond high school and am motivated to make that dream happen at the highest level I can acheive, as well as meet my academic goals at the same time in hopes of a career in the healthcare field.
