Personal Statement
Volleyball is a sport that I love playing and take pride in. The competitiveness of the game drives me to work hard each and every time I step into a gym. As a setter, I love the leadership role that I am challenged to pursue on the court. One of my best aspects as a player is that I can learn from my mistakes and I can move on to the next play. Throughout my years of playing highly-competitive volleyball, I have learned how important mental-toughness is. Whenever the team gets down, I always use words of encouragement to pick ourselves back up again.
In the classroom, I have maintained a 4.1 cumulative GPA while being involved in several other activities. Along with volleyball, I also participate in Best Buddies, Mentors in Violence Prevention Program, and working on earning my Silver Cord hours.
In college, I am looking to seek a major in the health/medical field because I am passionate about helping others and that is something I want to continue doing for the rest of my life. I want to play for a college or university that will meet my athletic and academic needs.
