Julie Archer '17 Recruiting Profile

Yes, I know 5’9” and 160 lbs. is not your “dream” right side hitter but I can really pack a punch. I’m an avid weight lifter and can hang clean 190 lbs. I also have a vertical of 22.8 inches. Furthermore, I love volleyball, and I am very competitive. My two older brothers played college sports and I have seen the positive impact being a student athlete has made on them. I have been privileged to start for my high school team since my sophomore year and was honored to make back to back trips to the 4A state volleyball tournament while making the First Team in the Ark Valley and Chisholm Trail League. My primary position is right side, but with the help of my knowledgeable and dedicated club and high school coaches I have learned the skills necessary to contribute to my teams from the back row. Serving, making digs, and neutralizing my opponent’s service game can be as much fun as swinging. Furthermore, I enjoy school and participate in STUCO, FCA, track, National Honor Society, and I am the Senior Class President. Lastly, I am excited to experience life after high school and believe a chance to make a college volleyball team my family and continue to learn many of life’s lessons through competitive sports would be an awesome opportunity.
