Volleyball has given me the opportunity to grow as an individual and as a team member. Volleyball has also helped me recognize my own personal strength, mental toughness, and level of determination. I bring enthusiasm and passion to the floor and sideline. My genuine exuberance is contagious both on the court and the sideline. I am an informal leader for my teammates and I am ok with that because I know it stems from the relationships I develop with all my teammates and coaches. I am often told that I inspire my teammate's passion on the court. I am also often told that I am fun to watch play because of my disarming personality contrasted against my power play and reflexes.
Physically I am strong, mentally, I have a high volleyball IQ. I see the defense and adjust in transition. Although I am predominately right-handed, I effectively use my left hand to tip and push balls based on where the defense is. I see the court and recognize open spots and when required I shoot for all the corners.
My primary positions are middle hitter/blocker and opposite hitter/blocker, but out-of-system I also set very well. My upper body strength, powerful legs, flexibility, and soft hands allow me to back and forward-set effectively from anywhere on the court. To date, I have only been called for one double when serving and the setter is out and out-of-system play in my 5-year competitive volleyball career.
I will bring energy, strength, and a high volleyball IQ to any team.
