Gianna Giarraputo '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello!

My name is Gianna Giarraputo, I will graduate in 2020 from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas.  I’m a left-handed Setter that is strong on defense and serving.  I have run successful 5-1 and 6-2 offenses.  I just led my high school team to the 2019 Kansas 5A State Championship Title.  PrepVolleyball has us currently ranked #1 in the Great Plains Region (Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Utah) and 20^th in the Nation, with a final record of 34-7.  USA Today is ranking us 17^th in the Nation.  We’ve had many successes this season including beating the Kansas 6A State Champions Blue Valley High School, Papillion-La Vista South (14^th in the Nation), and Skutt Catholic (23^rd in the Nation) in Nebraska.  

This season for club, I will be playing 6 rotations for Invasion 18 Black. 

I have led all my club teams in serving aces and consistency for 8 years now.   

Academically, I am a great student and take my studies very seriously.  I have a 3.9 GPA and I have always been on the Honor Roll, I will continue to strive for excellence in my studies.  It is important to me that I attend a strong academic school that has a family-like atmosphere with strong traditions like my high school, Saint Thomas Aquinas. 

Also, giving back to the community is important to me as well, by the time I graduate I will have accumulated well over 100 community service hours.

I set the bar high in anything I do in life and believe I can achieve greatness with the right instruction.  I have always wanted to compete and win at a high level!  I’m looking for coaches that will continue to develop me, I have a growth mindset and take instruction well.  I work hard every day to be a better player and person.  If given the opportunity to compete for you, you will not be disappointed!
