Madison Montross '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi - My name is Madison but I go by "Maddy". 

I am a Senior at South Oldham High School in Crestwood, KY, which is just outside Louisville, Ky. I have been playing volleyball since I was 7 years old, starting at the local YMCA and playing all 3 years in Middle School. As a Freshman at South High, I made the Freshman and JV Teams and was pulled up to the Varsity Team during the season where I was also a starter. For my Sophomore and Junior year, I made the Varsity team as a starter.  And, now, in my final and Senior year in high school, I am also a starter on the Varsity team.  

I am a DS for SOHS Varsity Team this year(Senior) but have already played as outside hitter as well this season depending on what the coach and team needs. (See latest video) I was an outside hitter, back-up setter, and all around player for the South Oldham HS Varsity team my Junior and Sophomore year, and an outside hitter/opposite during club season. 

My 2018 Club Season I played for PNK 17's in Louisville. This is an invitation only Club that picks some the best players from the Louisville and surrounding county schools. It was my honor this season to be asked to join this very selective club. Our first tournament, OVVC Icebreaker Jan 13-14, we played in the 17-18 bracket and were the Gold Champions.

I am very passionate about volleyball and know that I want to play at the collegiate level in 2019. I always give 110% to volleyball during practice, conditioning and competitions, which I am confident my coaches and trainers will confirm. I maintain a high GPA, 3.8,  because I understand the importance of receiving a good education as well. 

I am driven in finding a college that will fulfill my goal of playing volleyball at the most competitive level while being a team leader, as well as, pursuing my educational goals.
