Personal Statement
Hi my name is Addison Langford and I started playing volleyball 4 years ago. I quickly developed a love and drive towards the game and shortly my coach realized how passing and diving came very naturally to me. My first year playing I was the Libero for my middle school 8th grade team and I fell in love with my position. As I got into high school I realized that the competition I was going to be facing was none like I’d ever seen and if I wanted to be good I needed to work! To help “master” my passing I would pass the ball against the wall while I had down time during practice. I was determined to prove to my coach that I was the person that she could count on in the back row. I started out as the freshman Libero, worked my way up to Jv Libero, and eventually met my goal as being a defensive specialist on our high school varsity team as a freshman. As an athlete I strive to push myself as much as I can to get better. I take pride in my sports and my school and I am not afraid to lay out for a ball.
I have learned many things since starting my volleyball career, but the most important is to have a quick court IQ. I learned that even the best athletes mess up but what makes them different is they keep trying until they succeed. I aspire to better myself not only on the court but also in the classroom and to always remember to keep a competitive but caring attitude towards not only the game but also my teammates. I’m very excited to continue my journey throughout high school and hopefully have a career during college. Thank you for visiting my page and I would love to learn more about your volleyball program!
