Personal Statement
Hello! I have played volleyball for the past 8 years and don't plan on stopping anytime soon! I have played for my school teams, on club teams, and was selected to attend USA Volleyball High Performance camps. I've also been named to the 2013 and 2014 AVCA Phenom Lists. I pride myself in my high "volleyball IQ", including calling spots for hitters, serve placement, reading hitters/setters, and overall communication to lead my team to a win! Although I have a solid skill set, I strive to improve every day in all aspects of the game. Coaches always notice how driven and dedicated I am, whether in a camp, practice, or match. In times under pressure, such as competing for first place at the Gold Heart Challenge Cup (which my team won), I push to find that mental stability that allows me to play at my very best! Through these experiences I've learned that volleyball is not just a sport, it is my life. I want to PLAY in college while pursuing undergraduate studies in Exercise Science/Kinesiology. Then, my goal is to complete a Masters in Biomechanics so that I can help athletes like myself be at the top of their game physically. In order to achieve my academics goals, I plan to maintain my high GPA and to continue taking rigorous courses to prepare for college.
