Hello! My name is Victoria Yedo and I am a 5'8" defensive specialist, I play all the way around as an outside hitter and a defensive player on my high school volleyball team, and am currently playing as an outside, setter, and defensive player on my club team. Volleyball has been a large part of my life for many years. When I started playing in fourth grade I began on a rec team, slowly working up to my first club team, Phoenix, which didn't even compete in qualifiers. I feel as if though my journey from playing rec to competing at a national level and being a captain on a nationally ranked team has truly made me who I am today. I do not take my team or the sport for granted because I know what it is like to be seen as a sub-par player and to work as hard as I can to be taken seriously on the court.
While many players can say that they are hard workers and over all good players, I can add that I am a good teammate. I have never been on a team that hasn't had a overwhelming bond with each other. I know that being kind and supportive of your teammates can really bring out the best in them and I know that that is a skill I can bring to any team. Being able to play in college would be an amazing experience and would make my college years even better than they might be in the future. Even though I am trying to be recruited as a defensive specialist I am flexible and would play any position a coach might think I will be good for. If there is anything I can do to improve as a player I will do it. Volleyball is a major part of my life and playing in college while also receiving the best education I can is a very big goal for me.
