My name is Scout Hoffmeier. My name comes from the novel, "To Kill a Mockingbird." A favorite read of my Mom, the summer before I was born. I have been playing volleyball since the age of 8 and began my club career at age 9. Since the day I began playing the sport of volleyball, it has been the center-piece of my life. I knew immediately that playing at the collegiate level was my ultimate goal and that the benefits of playing collegiate volleyball could jump-start my professional life and reduce burden on my family.
I am recognized on the court for my intensity and exceptional athleticism. During the course of my junior career, I have played every position on the court at some point. This advantage, along with some extremely talented coaches, has provided me an exceptionally high volleyball IQ and the ability to recognize defenses and trends displayed by my competition. I have competed in the USAV High Performance program every summer since 2012 and was apart of a club team that was AAU National Runner-Up in the open division in 2015.
Along with indoor, I am an avid sand volleyball player and also actively swim for my high school team. Swimming is more of a hobby but, provides exceptional conditioning for my primary focus, volleyball. In the classroom, I maintain a 3.8 GPA in Honors-level classes and serve as a student council representative and class representative to "Mercy STRONG", an organization with the purpose of growing and enhancing the self-esteem of high school girls. Also, at my parish and school, I am apart of the liturgy and regularly serve as a lector during mass.
I want to attend a university where my athletic and academic goals are priority and I am challenged to reach beyond my potential. I am open to all collegiate options and ultimately hope to find a match at the highest level of competition possible. This match will be a place that I can make a difference and continue to be a role model for other girls.
