Personal Statement
Competition and physical fitness have always been a part of my life. I've enjoyed track, basketball, soccer & gymnastics, but volleyball is where my heart is. I've evolved into an athlete who is driven, vocal and strives to be a good example while encouraging my teammates to give "their all"! My platform work to hold posture, angle passes shows and serve receive is solid. I thrive under pressure, have noticeable lateral speed and agility, exhibit leadership and selflessness. I learn and recover quickly, plus 100% committed to doing the work and preparation necessary to become your most effective defender!
Besides maintaining a high GPA, I've exceeded my ACT goal, involved with many activities, and proud to be a Central High Wildcat!! I strength train year round, during the summer I incorporate gymnastics to improve my speed and power. It's important to me that I represent my family, church, coaches, and teams with respect, integrity and hard work. My down time is rare so when possible I spend time with family and enjoy goofing off with friends. My post high school plan is to pursue a business degree, possibly an international concentration.
I was selected for a position on the 17U Select High School Volleyball Team with AIST. We competed in the 2015 United World Games which was held in Austria, June 2015. My USA team of just 6 players, coached by Aleah Hayes, Assistant Coach at Columbia College, made a strong showing (4th place). This was my first trip traveling abroad without family, and definitely one the most rewarding experiences ever!
Finding the "right fit" will matter more than location. I want to belong to a tight-knit team, with true grit!
