Personal Statement
Leadership starts with humility. Humility is doing the right things without expecting anything in return. That is how I lead on the court and in the classroom. It is not the pats on the back that motivates me to excel it is the hard work it takes to win that is the greatest reward. Losing the State Championship was devastating, and knowing that I left everything on the court for my school, family and teammates is a small consolation. I won a State Championship in Soccer so I now know both sides of the coin and the key is to take away everything possible to learn and grow and become a better student athlete.
Adaptability and athleticism coupled with a strong academic focus makes me a unique and dynamic fit for a college volleyball program. I have been fortunate to play a variety of position in high school and club; MB, OH, RS and Setter and all of these positions have helped me have a deep and genuine interest in being a student of the game. Adapting, learning and educating myself constantly helps me to motivate and drive those around me to increase our performance. Leading and learning is natural for me and allows me to be available to listen to the needs of others and adapt to creating a winning environment to excel in.
