Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Olivia Adams and thank you for visiting my player profile. I live in Baltimore, Maryland with my parents and my sister. I attend The Catholic High School of Baltimore (TCHS) and am enrolled in the STEM and Honors Programs and have a grade point average of 4.2 on a 4.5 scale. I am also a member of the Student Council, the Athletic Association of TCHS, and selected to the National Honors Society. Currently, I am taking an AP college course in American History.
When I first became interested in volleyball, I was thirteen years old and entering high school and I wanted to try volleyball for fun. I had no expectations for myself other than do my best and try my hardest at all times. To my surprise, I made varsity as a freshman and on the first play of our school season, I stuffed blocked the opposing team’s middle hitter, which sent the whole gym into an uproar! At first, I didn’t realize my potential and the things I could accomplish in such a short period of time, ending my sophomore season making the All-Conference Team.
Because I am new to volleyball, I know I have a lot to learn and more experiences to gain. But after my recent successes, I feel confident, I can play volleyball in college with the right exposure, good coaching, hard work and dedication. I hope to gain that with the Baltimore Elite Volleyball Club, where I play for the 16U National Team.
In addition to volleyball, I play varsity softball, where I was named to the All-Conference Team, and club/travel softball, where my 16U team won the USSSA State Championship. I also usher at my Church and am an active member in my Church Youth Ministry.
The sport of volleyball is fun, fast and exciting and is a sport I enjoying playing. I have a good work ethic and dedication that enables me to increase my skills and get valuable experience in a short period of time. I love volleyball and I will put the work in to be a better well-rounded player and person and someday, maybe play in college. Thanks again for visiting my profile.
