My name is Katherine Carrel, I'm a junior and I play for Smash Volleyball Club and Cardinal Spellman High School. I've been playing volleyball since seventh grade and since freshman year there's nothing I love more than being on the court. I've played at the varsity level since freshman and have always had the goal of becoming a player that was looked up to by others. Summer of sophomore year, after starting for my high school team, I worked extremely hard at so many volleyball camps and clinics because I wanted to impress my coach, family and other girls I played with, not just myself. By tryouts my junior year, I was so far ahead of everyone on my team because of the amount of training I got I achieved almost every goal I had for my junior season. My club season is going very well and I get the opportunity to play with so many talented and supportive girls. I know that I really enjoy New England and where I live so that will be important to me when deciding where I want to go to school. School spirit is something that is really important to me also. I'm very enthusiastic on the volleyball court and have become really good at making people smile even and making them believe in themselves when they forget to. Being someone my teammates can count on, either on or off the court is something I value. I love being part of a team and forming relationships with my teammates has always been one of my favorite parts of playing volleyball. I've learned so much from the game of volleyball and met so many people that have changed my life and I'm looking forward to continuing that and having just as much fun and working even harder at the collegiate level.
