Personal Statement
I am currently working on a game and skills video
The most important thing to me when finding a college is academics. I work hard in my classes and I am currently working towards my International Baccalaureate diploma. I take pride in my work. The determination I have towards school is equal to the determination I have on the court. I believe the the reason I succeed in school is because of the busy schedule I have from sports. Besides volleyball, I also play basketball and tennis. I have been a three sport varsity athlete since freshman year.
I am a good candidate for a college team because of my coach-ability and commitment to the sport. I always listen to my coaches and value what they have to say. I have always been taught that the four people you must respect are parents, coaches, teachers, and refs. I often stay after practice to work on certain skills I have having trouble with. I understand the sacrifice to play at an elite level and I want to take on the challenge. Even now at the club level I have had to make sacrifices, such as cancelling a trip to Italy, so I could play volleyball.
The most important characteristic that I have is my positivity and how I never give up in a game. Volleyball is a mental game and once you have check out the other team wins. I encourage my team to continue fighting even if we are losing by a lot because a game is never over until one team reaches 25.
Besides sports, I am very involved in my school and my community. At school I am Student Council President. I am one of three MIAA student ambassador for my school. I also participate in many volunteer events with the Camp Burgess and Hayward Road Crew. I spend my summers as a camp consular. Besides volleyball the second thing I am most passionate able is being a camp consular and working with kids all summer.
I look forward to finding a program that shares the same values as me. I hope to have fun on and off the court with my team. I look forward to hearing from you!
