2016 HighlightsPersonal Statement
Hello! My name is Nicki Gorrell. I have been playing volleyball for about 4 years now, starting with clinics in middle school under the head coach of Dulaney High School, where I currently play. Ever since I have started these clinics, I fell in love with the sport of volleyball. Even though a middle hitter is not on the court for the entire rotation during a game, I try to lead with a strong, positive personality.
I have always been considered as a strong and supportive leader ever since I was little. With a background from riding horses as a part of the United States Pony Club, I have learned how to discipline myself and how to handle strenuous situations. In stressful situations, I have learned to compose myself, and I learned to apply any anxiousness or stress into a calm and primed state of mind.
After having some time off from playing volleyball, I came back ready to play stronger than ever. This current season has been my best season yet, and I hope to take the new things I learn and apply them to become a strong applicant of playing in college. I can't imagine anything better than spending four years studying my favorite subject of chemical engineering while playing my favorite sport.
