Hello, my name is Taylor Alexander and I am a Senior; all-around player (High School Volleyball - Detroit Country Day, in Beverly Hills, MI.) and libero /defensive specialist (Club Volleyball -Team Detroit Volleyball Club, Novi, MI.). I have maintained a strong GPA (3.69) while taking rigorous IB and honors classes in school; I spent my 2013 summer participating in Johns Hopkins' Precollege medical program; and I traveled to China twice to study Mandarin during my freshman and sophomore summer break. I have 8 years of club volleyball experience and I started on the varsity high school volleyball team as a freshman.
My accolades include: All Region (1st Team 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, All State Honorable Mention 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014; Frosh 59 List (2011): The Best Varsity-Playing Freshmen in America; Most Valuable Varsity Player DCDS 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 and named captain of DCDS varsity team 2013 and 2014. I earned a spot on the 2012 NAVCA Phenom List and invited / attended the NAVCA Phenom College Preparatory Program in Louisville, Kentucky (December 2012). I am excited to say that during the summer of 2011, I began training and competing in sand volleyball.
Additionally, I would like to attend a university, major in Biology or Premed, and play the game I have grown to love; volleyball. I am an impact player with a high volleyball IQ. I am a defensive player that works well in any spot on the court. I have the drive to compete, with a positive attitude and I am coachable. I am an athletic volleyball player that can attack and terminate with aggressive swings. Most importantly, I am dedicated to providing the maximum athletic performance through proper rest, healthy nutrition, and staying athletically fit.
After undergrad, my goal is to attend medical school. I have always said, "When I grow up, I would like to be one of the top preventive medical researchers or orthopedic surgeons in the country." I tend to excel in math and science; consequently, I aspire to either pursue a career in medical research or medical practice. Of course in my free time I will always be on the volleyball court, either competing or teaching others how to play this incredible sport and during my quiet time; you will find me playing my violin or listening to music. I am open to any size or division university as long as it gives me the opportunity to fulfill my academic goals.
"Side Out!"
