Personal Statement

I am a hardworking student-athlete both on and off the court with a 3.55 GPA. I am a two sports athlete including volleyball and softball, being a varsity starter freshman, sophomore, and going into my junior year of high school. Sports have taught me; leadership, time management, commitment, mental and physical toughness, and being a team player. My primary position on my high school team is a left side hitter, though I am able to play any position my coach needs me to. I am not the tallest girl out there but I am able to jump and get on top of the ball like any other player. I also realize the reality of only being a passer due to my height which I am 100% okay with. I love the game of volleyball and I will play any position in order to be on the court. I am willing to step out of my comfort zone. I have been able to meet many of my goals in volleyball and now I am working on my biggest goal yet. My goal is to play volleyball in college, anywhere at any level, and I am determined to  achieve it. I do not have a set college or location I am hoping for, I am going into this process with an open mind.

Throughout my high school volleyball career, the highest award I have recived was 3rd Team All Region. This was the highest award given to my team in 2014. This year I hope to achieve a State award which will only come with more hard work.

I have many supporters encouraging me through this journey. My coach is one of my biggest cheerleaders and expects greatness to come from me. With her help and  commitment to me, I have learned how to make corrections easily, take tough criticism, and persevere through challenging times which is where mental toughness plays a huge role in her coaching.  Her coaching style is different from most high school coaches in the area. My coach is tough as nails and works us right to the core. Most girls do not like the high bar of expectation that she sets for her players and most of the time quit after a year. Personally, I love her level of difficulty and  intensity because I know I would not be the volleyball player I am today. I also believe her intensity prepares me that much more for college volleyball. Although I cannot guarantee perfection, I can guarantee I will give my all 110% of the time.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
