Personal Statement
I'm definitely not a physically tall player, but I put my heart and mind into playing as "tall" as I can be. I work very hard to succeed on the court as well as in the classroom. I feel that my ACT score(26) and GPA(4.0) is a good reflection of my hard work and determination to be the best I can be. I love the game of volleyball, and it has been a goal of mine to continue playing at the college level. I am extremely versatile when it comes to my position on the court. My freshman year I started out playing in the outside position as well as setting, but my team needed someone to fill the middle hitter position for the next few years. I have played middle for my high school team for the last two years, but my coach has told me that he plans on me spending most of my time in the outside hitter position in the upcoming season. I have still practiced setting as well as playing outside for the past few years because I have grown to love just the idea of volleyball and all the aspects of the game. I am a very competitive player so I find myself always occupying myself with sports. So to stay active during the off season, I play basketball, and softball as well as travel volleyball.
