Personal Statement
My name is Alyssa Davis, and I have been playing volleyball since I was 13. My main position is Libero; my second position is defensive specialist. For both club and school season I started as a left back Libero. As an athlete I always want to stay in shape and be able to be and do the best that I can.
My Sophomore year was my rookie year on Varsity. I had the pleasure of playing with a great group of girls that took me under their wing. Although I didn’t see much playing time, I practiced hard and learned so much. When the time came I stepped up to the plate, in our regional match-up. “After losing game one, we needed that win and putting Alyssa into the game was just the spark that we needed,” Coach Andrews said. “How she responded in the moment when we needed her to, and how we responded as a team in the moment we needed to respond were tell-take sign of how our girls handled the pressure tonight, and I am proud of how our girls rose to the occasion.” My Junior year I was honored to receive co-MVP, and All-Conference honorable mention. I have been a scholar athlete for my whole high school career. My national club team won states for our age group.
My goals for volleyball are to play in college and have the opportunity to show others dedication and hard work will get you closer to your goal. I give 110% at everything I do. My team is family; I always make sure that I am close with my team. We are there to support each other, help and listen.
I am very good at managing my time with sports and school. My sports push me to do better in school. I know that my job is to put school first and in order to play what I love I have to keep my grades up. My desired field of study is the medical field. In the future, I hope to become a surgical nurse.
