Growing up being not only a middle child, but also the only girl of three kids taught me how to be a leader at a very young age. Leadership is one of my most prominent traits and has been something that has helped me and my teams throughout the years be successful and grow closer together. I have played with half of my same team since my 14s club season and I have had the same coach, as well. I have not only grown tremendously in skill since 14s season, but I have also learned many lessons from my coach and teammates. Perseverance is a big thing that I have learned over the years. Having a great, winning season can make you very confident going into the next the next season. However, as last season taught me, starting a season with several new teammates and not getting off to a great a start can be difficult. I was able to help my team overcome this slow start by becoming a vocal and optimistic leader. This led to a bid to USAV Nationals in Indianapolis.
When I first began playing volleyball, being left-handed seemed to hold me back because I was different. But as I grew into the sport I began to understand that this was an unusual benefit and has helped me and my teammates tremendously.
Being involved in athletics I've grown to appreciate the athletic trainers and physical therapists that have helped me and my teammates overcome small injuries and stay healthy. This has led me to consider becoming a physical therapist so I can help others make the most of their athletic careers and stay involved in athletics as long as possible.
