I have a strong desire to play NCAA volleyball with intentions of allowing me to pursue my strong pre-medicine academic interests.
I began volleyball in 6th grade after a friend introduced me to the sport. I was a competitive dancer, and I wasn't really fitting in because I was so incredibly tall for my age. When I started volleyball, I felt so much more at home - being tall and strong has a much better place in the volleyball world than in dance. Because of my 10-year dance background, learning difficult choreography in minutes, it was easy for me to pick up and learn new things on the court. Dance also provided me with a great sense of body movement, not only of myself but also others around me. This allows me to read what is happening on the court very well. I am blessed to have lots of power in my swing, and the combination of those two traits makes me good at hitting with intention to selective places on the court.
I am extremely coachable and eager for continued development with my J.O. team, especially in my serving, blocking and athletic jump performance, continuing to advance my capabilities for my team and in preparation for college volleyball.
I believe that commitment and determination are key to becoming a successful and useful player.
