Kayla Smocks '21 Recruiting Profile

My main goal while playing volleyball is to excel in every way possible. I always bring positive energy on and off the court, encourage my teammates, and be the best player I can be. When I make mistakes, I do not get discouraged. Instead I focus and visualize myself making an improvement on the next play.  

I'm a great athlete for your team because I know that energy is one aspect that can make a team lose or win. I can bring that good energy and positivity to the team.

I also know that mental training and toughness is just as important and physical training. I train both my mind and body to perform at maximum strength during games

During practices, I will give my all for my team and coaches. I respect all my coaches and teammates and would not disrespect either of them. 

Not only do I play volleyball, but I run track. I'd consider myself quick and great with reflexes. This helps me when I'm on the court and a ball is coming at high speed, or when a pass is shanked and I have to race to get the ball before it hits the ground.
