Personal Statement
2016 was a great year of Volleyball for me and my teammates. Here are the highlights.
- Finished my High School career as All-Conference and Team MVP.
- Lead the state of Minnesota in Solo Blocks!
- My JO team, Vital Volleyball Club 17-1 Gold, won 3rd-place in the American Division at the AAU Nationals.
Now I'm ready to take the next step and play collegiate volleyball.
I'm very proud of what I've accomplished in three short years of volleyball. Sophomore year I transferred from a large public school to a small, private college preparatory school. I played competitive soccer in the fall since I was 5, but then a good friend of mine introduced me to volleyball at Breck. I didn't expect to love a sport as much as I loved volleyball. Being an experienced soccer player I was used to seeing nothing that surprised me, but when I made the decision to play volleyball, I learned how amazing and interesting of a sport it was. Not having years of experience under my belt was a struggle, but I worked harder that I had ever worked before and I saw improvements I didn't expect to see. I made the varsity team later in the season. That winter, I played club volleyball and made the 16-3 team at Club Tonka. Through a lot of hard work, including private training and summer workouts I made the varsity team at Breck and then made the 17-1 team at the Vital Volleyball Club! Academics have gone well too, I'm in my Senior year and have pushed my GPA up to a 3.2. I'm continuing my hard work and my goal is to be a strong academic student, as well as a strong athletic student.
