Personal Statement

My name is Taylor Gregory, I am 5'6", but I don't let that define me. I play much bigger than I am. The only position I haven't played is middle front. I am a utility player. I can play whatever position the team needs me to play. I play to win, I want to earn my place on the floor. I have worked very hard to get where I am as far as academics and athletics.

I am looking to play defensive specialist/libero at the college level. My defense for a long time has been complimented by coaches, parents, and other players. I can read the floor, find holes in the block, read hitters arms exceedingly well. One thing about myself playing DS/libero that would be very beneficial to a team is that I have played every position. I have set for many years and I have exceeded at it and I have hit outside and right side for many years. I may not be 6 feet tall, but many coaches have complimented me on my ability to tear teams apart with my placement of the ball. You don't need to be tall to score points, sometimes you just have to be smart. I could greatly benefit any team that is willing to have me.

Volleyball is a huge part of my life and I don't intend to let anyone put me in a box and say that I can't, because I can and I will. I am a very driven person. If you challenge me to something, I will rise to the occasion.

School is also very important to me. I have figured out in the last few years that I would like to go into the medical field. I am aware that it will take a lot of work and lots of dedication. I am up to the challenge. My grades are very important to me. I haven't had a single B in years. B's to me are a sign of failure to me because I know I am capable of getting A's. I will not settle for less than my best at anything.

I am a very determined athlete and student and as you look through my profile, I am hopeful that you will consider me for a place within your roster and campus.
