Personal Statement
I am a Sophomore at Cowley College, a NJCAA National Volleyball Tournament qualifier the past 11 straight years. While I'm focusing on my Fall 2016 season, I'm starting the search for a four year school to continue my volleyball career and obtain my Biology and/or Nursing degree. I have had the opportunity to play for my college and high school teams that have achieved winning success and I am looking to play with a team that shares the same desire to work hard and competes to win. At Cowley last year, we finished 6th at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Phoenix, AZ, with a record of 26-10. My high school team played in the largest class in Missouri, Suburban Blue-Class 4 and we finished 63-9 my junior and senior year in high school. I finished my high school career with 1346 good digs and received All-District, All-Conference and All-Region awards.
I’m focused on being a defensive leader on the court in the Libero position. So far this season my digs per set average is currently 6.60, which ranks me in the Top 5 nationally. I have received the KJCAA Conference Defensive Player of the Week award five weeks this season. My float and jump serves continue to get stronger as I have 49 service aces so far this year, passing my total from last year. I am a dedicated student-athlete and my studies are also important to me. I graduated with a GPA of 3.6 from high school and achieved a 3.5 my first year at Cowley.
I desire to play with a competitive volleyball program in which I can provide my defensive leadership on the court, as well as continuing my focus on excelling in the classroom.
