I have been playing volleyball for at least 12 years. I am hoping to be able to continue to play volleyball at a collegiate level. I have a strong work ethic with putting in the time and effort, along with a competitive spirit. My attitude is give it everything I got when on the court with my team. I practice on all year round whether in the gym, in the backyard, or in my garage. I play outside hitter and defense. The one skill I am most proud of is my jump serve. I put a lot of time in serving to different positions with it. I also fill in also where my team needs to me to. One game I had to step into the setter position at the last moment never having done it before. My family lives is a small town which makes it hard at times to find practice areas, so to help my dad has set up our garage as a gym to make it possible whether it is to hit a volleyball or work on my jumping or lift weights which helps me stay in shape through out the off season.
I preform well at school with an average gpa of 3.2. I am family oriented and get along well with others, that is why I have choose Dental Hygiene as my major with a minor in either Psychology or English. Coaching volleyball at the high school level is one of my future goals as well. I attended church regularly with my family and is part of the youth group at our church.
I have been coaching a youth volleyball program through our local recreation department for the last couple of years. We work on the fundamentals and progress into some team play. It is so rewarding to help the youth, mostly young girls in grades 4-5 learn a sport I love to play. To be able to pay it forward is just a great feeling.
