Isabel Ruff '15 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I’m Isabel Ruff, also known to family and friends as “Izzy”. I am a 5’10 outside hitter, blocker and back row player. I’ve developed a passion and a genuine love for the game of volleyball, at the age of 11, when I played the first year with a home school team. I loved watching the varsity girl’s play and practice. Their team worked so well together, almost like a dance! I loved how they all knew exactly what to do and exactly when to do it.  I knew then this is what I wanted to do and become.  I wanted to become that girl who was a positive role model in young girl’s lives.  I aspire to be a person with the positive characteristics to influence young girls to also become whatever they imagine themselves to be.

I continue playing volleyball with my home school team as well as a competitive travel team, in my city. I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to play so much, I am thankful for my parents and coaches who have seen the potential in me and have coached me to always do my best and follow my dreams.  I feel that with Christ anything is possible! 

My education is very important to me.  I’m self disciplined when it comes to my work, whether it’s school, chores or play.   I feel that education is first, in order to do my best on the court.  My plans are to further my education, and I’m hopeful that I will have the opportunity to continue to play competitive volleyball for a school while acquiring a Bachelors degree in Business and a Vet Tech degree.

I am a very dedicated and loyal girl!  I know it takes hard work to achieve the rewards I seek.  I am not afraid of hard work, or working hard to attain what I want.  I am well rounded and have many qualities to offer a college.  I have learned that there are always people looking for my position and if I want to keep my position I have got to practice and keep growing.
