Personal Statement
My professional aspiration is to become a doctor of veterinary medicine and eventually establish my own veterinary practice. Living in a rural area, I plan to specialize in large, farm and ranch type animals as there is a great need for this type of care in the area in which I reside. Athletically, I began playing women's volleyball several years ago. I found that I loved the sport, and through hours of study, skills training, and practice, I quickly rose to hold the position of starting setter for my Club, Middle School, and High School teams. My dreams and goals include receiving the opportunity to play women's volleyball in collegiate sports, and I am poised and ready to work hard to achieve that goal.
Volleyball is my primary sport of interest as well as what I aspire to play in college. However, due to extreme differences in coaching styles and preferences between my high school program and my club program, I have chosen to not play high school volleyball in my last two years of high school. I continue to train through my club program in order to keep my skill level high. In addition, to keep my speed and agility high as well as to remain physically active, I am now playing on my High School tennis team and am currently ranked as the Number Two seed at my high school. I'm a really hard worker and very competitive, and, when I take the court, whether it be in volleyball or tennis, I'll give the game and my team everything I have to offer.
