I have many goals set for myself, playing college volleyball being one of them. I fortunately realized early that if I want to succeed at anything, I have to work for it. I am an athlete, student, and person, but I don't want to be average. I have dedicated myself to my studies, training sessions, the weight room, and making sure my choices will reflect me positively. I can truly say everything I have earned in the past 1 and a half years, I have broke much more the a sweat to accomplish. I see people everyday at school who walk in to take a test and tell the person next to them they didn't study at all and they see the next day they still have an A. Sure, they are lucky and must be really smart. But will they be able to do that for everything they do in their life? No, but the feeling you get when your awake for hours studying or practicing something and then succeeding, it's so worth it. That's how I want to feel when I get my opportunity to further my athletics in volleyball in academics in college. My athletic ability I have been told is high, but I am not satisfied and am ready everyday to bring it to a new level. After my sophmore season playing both right side, middle, and outside on varsity, I really learned a couple new things about being diverse and learning new things. I was given the opportunity shortly after the season to be a goalie for soccer. The past 5 months I had worked with the head coach of the girl's team and all the time and effort I had put in is slowly starting to show. I just made the varsity team for goalie and it is a whole new experience and challenge but I am ready for it. This experience (and still going) is helping me become a more diverse athlete in many ways mentally and physically, that I hope will benefit me in the future. My volleyball skills are good, but what I hope will really take me to personal success is my drive to take it another level higher.
