Personal Statement
I've always believed in the saying "Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard".
My name is Cheyanne Haas from Las Vegas, NV and I currently attend Highline College in Des Moines, Washington. I am a duel sport athletic, I play on Highline's Volleyball team, as well as the Softball program. I consider myself to be an all-around athlete, I am very committed to what I put my mind to and am a dedicated student. Just to tell you a little bit about myself. I first started playing volleyball my freshman year and I have loved it ever since. By the end of my freshman season on varsity, I was voted most improved for the huge changes I had made in my own abilities on and off the court. I am a four year varsity player and was team captain my junior and senior seasons in highscool. For my 2014-2015 freshman volleyball season at Highline College, I walked on to the team working for a position on the court as a right-side/middle blocker, we ended with 2nd in our region. For my 2015-2016 sophomore season that just recently ended, I was a middle blocker for my volleyball team, also team captain. For preseason I spent two weeks training in Brazil with my team. Surprising myself and coaches at the end of the year, I was awarded with making the Western region all-star team, being MVP of western region, receiving recognition for 1st team honors, and receiving 2015 Fall academic excellence award. Also ending with a winning season ending the year with 33 wins-8 losses.
