Personal Statement
I am an outside hitter from North Caldwell, New Jersey and I will graduate from Mount Saint Dominic Academy in 2019. I have been a starting outside hitter on the varsity volleyball team at my school since freshman year. As a freshman, I started in every game, and was awarded an all conference honorable mention. As a sophomore, I was named to the 1st Team all Conference and the 1st Team all Prep. As a junior, I received 1st team all conference, 1st team nonpublic, 1st Team all Prep, and 3rd team all state. I was a junior captain of my team and led the state of New Jersey in kills in the 2017 high school season.
I played 2 seasons of national club volleyball at Allegro Volleyball Club in 2014 and 2015 (13 National and 15 National). In 2016-17, I played on Team VbRags 15 National and this season I am a 6 Rotation OH on Team VbRags 17 National.
I am constantly working hard and seeking ways to improve my skills. I look forward to furthering my skills and knowledge of the game in the next two seasons of high school, and the three seasons of club volleyball that I have ahead of me. I am a very focused and tactical player on the court. I always strive to be the best team player I can be to help to encourage and lead my teammates. I have played 3 years of U14 and U16 beach volleyball and I qualified for nationals in Florida this past summer. I am currently ranked in the top 20 in the country for Volley America.
My education and my volleyball career are both extremely important in my life. I am a straight A’s honors and AP student and I hold myself to high academic standards. I look forward to taking multiple AP courses during my junior and senior year. I am an active member of the student council and many other clubs at my Catholic High School which I balance with my athletic and academic commitments.
It has always been a dream of mine to pursue volleyball at a collegiate level as this sport has been an important part of my life since I was 8 years old. I would love to go to a school with great academics in biology and medical studies, as I aspire to continue to medical school after college.
