Personal Statement
My name is Carissa Ostolaza, I am a 5’11 Outside Hitter at Passaic Valley Regional High School. My initial goal is to continue my volleyball career out of high school and onto a level that will test my skills as a volleyball player. I am open to any challenges that introduce growth as not only a student athlete, but a person outside of the sport itself. As a student athlete being the oldest 1 of 5 siblings, I believe it is part of my obligation to set a good example for my siblings around me as they grow. I hope to be someone they can strive to be like as upcoming high school students, or even as motivation knowing that if they were to work hard towards their dreams and desires, they could accomplish them.
I have been invested in my passion for volleyball since the third grade, playing for the boys and girls club at that time and eventually going on to play during high school. Some characteristics that I believe I could attribute to the team and the school's overall environment would be that I am a fast learner, if ever given the chance to try something knew I will give it my all to successfully achieve the task, I have good work ethic on and off the court, and I am determined to succeed in the things I put my mind to. I hope to one day be a significant addition to your team and university.
