Athena Defulio '17 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Athena DeFulio and I am a senior at Shawnee High School in Medford, NJ and graduating in the class of 2017.  I am a 6' middle hitter.  In addition to being a middle hitter, I can hit outside and right side and have great back row skills for a front row player.  My first three years of club volleyball was with South Jersey Volleyball Club, 14-1’s and 15-1s.  My last club season, I played for East Coast Crush Volleyball Club, 16-1’s and I am currently with East Coast Crush on the 17-1’s team. In addition to playing club volleyball, I was also a part of the high school varsity dance team and danced outside of high school for 4 years. The past three summers, I have participated in a coed 2X2 beach volleyball clinic with South Jersey Volleyball Club and I have also played in numerous beach tournaments. 

Looking ahead at college, I’m open to attending school anywhere in the United States. I am going to pursue my degree in Special Education. I believe I would be an asset to a collegiate team because of my focus and work ethic. As well as being a competitor, I am also a supportive teammate and well-rounded player. Because of my love for the sport of volleyball, I am willing to work extremely hard to be successful on the collegiate level and beyond. I always step onto the court ready to work hard, be challenged, and learn from my mistakes. I am continuing to improve and grow as a student-athlete every day and look forward to the experience of playing in college. Thank you for your consideration. Athena DeFulio
