Sarah Polanco '17 Recruiting Profile

I have a dream of playing competitive volleyball at the next level.  Playing competitive volleyball is one of my favorite past times ever since touching a volleyball in 6th grade.  I consider myself a hard worker dedicated to being a learner of the game.  Every day that I step onto the court, I my goal is to work harder and become better than I was the day before.  I am a leader to my teammates on and off the court, and to my peers. I am consistently a 3 passer and I know how to play in a variety of offensive set ups. This past season we played a reverse which was very effective in the success of our season. I am comfortable playing libero, defensive specialist on either left or right side in addition to a rover.  I consider myself a quick learner who loves a good challenge.  I am also an effective spot server. My talents include playing softball.  I regularly work out by lifting weights, running, and core work. At times my coach selected me as team captain, taking the role on and guiding my team, to fulfill the expectations. I stay positive and do not let negative energy discourage me or my team. I verbally pick everyone up, in a positive, encouraging way and I lead by example. I have maintained a 3.0 gpa and i am always looking for ways to improve my academics and athletics.
