UPDATE: 2017
Dear Coaches, my name is Mackenzie Alexander (Mack), I am 6’2” left handed Senior, still growing and gaining strength. I am currently the starting RS at Los Alamos High School, Los Alamos, New Mexico, and I will be graduating in the class of 2017. I am interested in attending and play volleyball at Oregon State University for the 2017-18 season. I would like to learn more about your volleyball program and I am interested in a career in sports medicine/athletic training.
I would like to demonstrate my abilities and to experience the path towards collegiate volleyball. I hope you can see me in action at one of our upcoming tournaments (MLK, Las Vegas, Denver, Spokane) and I am available to discuss any opportunities.

==================================================== 2016 ==================================================================
Hi! I’m Mackenzie Alexander. My friends call me Mack. I’m a Senior at Los Alamos High School, and I am still growing and gaining strength. I have played numerous sports over the years including basketball, softball, soccer, and of course, volleyball, which is my passion! This past year, I played on our high school varsity volleyball team as a starter on the right side. And in the next couple weeks I will start back up with my club team in Albuquerque.
During my sophomore year, I was approached by several New Mexico club teams that saw great potential in me. This was the opportunity and the recognition that I was needing! I chose to train and try-out for a 16’s National Club Team out of Albuquerque, NM. This was something I knew would help me reach the next level of volleyball play. Making this team required a great amount of dedication--not only to the sport, but also to academics. The practices for club team involved a ~200 mile round-trip, ~ three hours of travel, four to five times a week. Over these past two years, I have successfully learned how to manage my academics with my busy schedule. Over the past year, my GPA has moved from a 2.2-2.5 to currently a 3.6. Volleyball has motivated me to be successful academically.
Prior to the club experience, I was unsure about pursuing the collegiate volleyball path; however, this level of play motivates and excites me. I have made an internal decision, to make the grades, put in the practice time, learn from my coaches and have set my goal to play at the collegiate level while working towards a career in sports medicine/athletic training.
Last year, I made the 17N1 team and I am looking forward to competing with my club teammates again this year on the 18N1 team. I can’t wait to demonstrate my abilities and to experience the path towards collegiate volleyball. I hope you can see me in action at one of our tournaments, and I can’t wait to discuss any opportunities.
