Personal Statement
Throughout my years playing volleyball, I have been extremely lucky to have amazing coaches who've taught me everything I need to know to be the player and person I want to be. Over the years I have learned to gain confidence in myself due to my coaches and those who said I can't. Both of these factors have pushed and continue to push me to reach my goals. As a result, I received the "Best Digger Award" at the Capital Hill Classic Tournament in Washington D.C. in 2016. Winning that award, and given the opportunity to play volleyball for my high school varsity volleyball team as a sophomore has been two of my greatest achievements as a player. My biggest turning point although, in my opinion, has been this past high school varsity volleyball season. This year more than any year, I have learned patience, positivity, determination, and more. This year I have trained harder than ever to be the best I can be and have learned that no matter what, it is important to always play at 110%. Having this mindset for me has definitely improved me as a player mentally and physically.
I'm extremely grateful for the coaches and teammates I have had the past years. They have helped me in an immense amount of ways on the court and off. Now, I'm searching for a school that will be the perfect fit for me not only athletically, but academically as well. As a student, I aspire to continue to receive high grades for the rest of high school and in college. I believe that I am capable of playing volleyball for a college because of my hard-working, motivated, and positive personality, and can really be a vocal leader on and off of the volleyball court.
