My name is Sophia Tuliau, I am the youngest daughter of Katharine and Tulsa Tuliau, both my mom and dad were in the Army, my dad was an All- Army Volleyball player. Growing up as a military child I've become very open-minded towards people and different places. Throughout my personal volleyball career I have learned that even though your teammates come from all different backgrounds, when it's time to compete on the court you set all adversity aside and play for each other in order to win. This past summer I was selected to compete with the USA Team, Women's Junior A1 National Training Program in Tulsa, Ok. I have previously been selected for the GYA 3- 2017 Girls' Youth National A3 Program in New Orleans, LA and additionally was selected to play for the IREVA High Performance Program to compete for the Girls' Youth International Team at the 2017 High Performance Championships in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. My experience with competing at higher level volleyball have both physically and mentally made me stronger as a volleyball player which in turn has made me a more aggressive player overall. Throughout my academic career, I have learned to balance my academics with my extracurricular activities such as my High School Varsity Volleyball team, my club Volleyball team, Varsity Track and Field, and my volunteer work in the community which is something I plan to carry on into college where I hope to study Social Work. Through Volleyball, I have met some amazing athletes and coaches from all over the country and I love the game more and more as I continue to travel and compete with different people.
Thank you so much for considering me for your Future team!
