I have been a student athlete for as long as I can remember. I readily identify with both the "student" and "athlete" aspects that it is difficult to separate the two. This is the heart of the reason why I hope to continue both on the collegiate level. One thing that I want people to know about me is that I am super competitive - especially with myself. Whether it is my performance in the classroom or on the court, I am always challenging myself to become better. It is this inner drive that allowed me to reach my goal to be a 6 rotation player for my club team, as well as achieve placement in the top 5% of my class. Another thing to understand about me is that I feel most successful when that success is a shared experience. Nothing brings people closer than giving it all on the court together as a team or pulling great grades after endless sessions with your study group. Having that sense of community is like having a really large extended family and all the advantages that come with it. I think that academics and athletics complement each other so well, and I cannot imagine pursuing one without the other. It is my goal is to find a college or university, and its resident volleyball program, in which to give my best.
