I am 17 years old and while I am not yet certain on a major there are some things that I know for certain. I fell in love with the game of volleyball in the 6th grade. I have competed at the Junior National Championships and at the open level of several national qualifiers for the last 6 years. Playing volleyball has allowed me to experience firsthand that hard work and determination pay off! God has truly used volleyball to teach me the power of hard work, commitment and perseverance. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I am a kid that knows how to work hard and takes nothing for granted.
My goals are to continue playing volleyball in college, decide on a major, continue to be a strong student, and never ever stop going above and beyond to do what it takes to be successful. In addition, it is my desire to seek and follow God's plan for my life and live my life in such a way that it is pleasing to Him and for His glory. I am not set on one particular area of the country, instead I am looking for a school that is a good fit for me.
I have been told that in addition to my physical skills that I have great court sense, excellent decision making, and strong leadership skills. I am a strong competitor and work to win. I hate excuses, I admit and fix it when I'm falling short whether it be in practice, a game or even everyday life and then I do what it takes to overcome it. Another thing I know for sure is I can't even imagine not playing volleyball and would welcome the opportunity to speak with you about what I might have to offer your program.
*When reading my stats please note, normally I would have had between 65-70 sets played in a school season. However, two weeks into this season my appendix ruptured. To make matters worse it had ruptured about a week before I sought medical attention. Consequently, I not only needed an emergency appendectomy but also had peritonitis which meant a six day hospital stay for intravenous antibiotics. I could not play for one month after my release from the hospital. Since the surgery affected my abdominal muscles (core) my serve was a bit messed up for a couple of weeks. The best way I can explain it is it was like I no longer knew my strength. Thankfully I worked it out and had to accept that it was another part of the recovery process. In my junior season I had 17 serving errors in 68 games and in my sophomore school season I had 15 errors in 65 games. Finally, my school coaches only stat blocks and block assists for the hitters therefore, I am not able to enter a number that can be verified.
