Samantha Dunn '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Samantha Dunn, and I will be graduating in 2017 from DH Conley High School, Greenville, NC. I am a very motivated and competitive individual. I love everything about the sport of volleyball, and I am a great team player giving 100% all of the time. I am energetic with a great attitude on and off of the court. Volleyball has helped me grow and develop not only as an athlete but as a person, becoming more outgoing and confident. I would like to be a part of a volleyball program where I can continue to grow as a person while earning a college degree.

I am a 5'8" full court volleyball player for my 4A high school team as well as for my club volleyball team ECJVC 17 Black. I specialize as a defensive player, but I am also a very effective hitter from both the front and back rows being regularly called upon to play every position with both teams. In my junior high school season, I lead my team in points winning the  Above the Net Award and being named to the 2015 Eastern Carolina All-Conference Team. I have played club volleyball for my club's National team since age 12, qualifying for USAV GJNC three times and competing in the AAU Nationals once. We primarily compete in National events, MAPL, and the ACPL. I also compete in the USA Junior Beach Tour where I have won regional tournaments and qualified for the 2015 USAV Junior Beach Nationals. 

I play as a true utility player. First to every practice and open gym, I train in addition to team workouts. As a dedicated, happy, drama free, easy to get along with person, I follow direction well and am very coachable.

I am a devoted student with a current GPA of 3.85 taking primarily honors classes. I am awaiting my SAT results and hope to take the ACT in June 2016. In addition to my classes, volunteer work, and other extra curricular activities, I am an active member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and National Art Honor Society.
