Personal Statement
My name is Jordan Williams and I am a 6'1 Middle Blocker. I started playing volleyball my freshman year and simply fell in love with the sport because of it's unique ability to engage everybody on the court and it's finite necessity for communication. After playing basketball for the past 7 years, I started playing volleyball my freshman year of high school. Balancing basketball and volleyball was not easy over my high school years and often times over the summer I would go to volleyball camps and practices in the morning only to rush home and change for basketball games or AAU practices. Ultimately I decided that basketball was no longer for me and I decided to give my full undivided attention to volleyball which resulted in a consecutive playoff appearance for the first time in 8 years for my high school and an All Conference 2nd Team award for me. Amongst all the craziness I balanced a 3.2 GPA complete with Honors and AP classes and I plan to pursue a field of study in Health Sciences. Through all the ruckus of high school I continued to play volleyball for my high school varsity team for all four years and my junior year I joined Club Fusion and my senior year I decided to play for LV Impact where I am currently playing now. Playing both volleyball and basketball have not only improved my high school experience but further enabled me to play more successfully on the volleyball court and sequentially I developed my motto of, "Do it with passion or not at all". These activities contributed to my mind frame of when stepping on the court I not only need to better the ball but, I need to better my teammates by playing my hardest and by doing this I encourage them to do the same for me which will ultimately lead to success.
