Gianna Cruz '16 Recruiting Profile

I am currently a Senior in High School who believes on a daily basis I try to be the best person in life.  This includes on and off the court.  I aspire to make people happy; my immediate family, teachers, classmates and coaches.  I thrive on happiness, positive attitude has been my road I have chosen to travel.  My Grandfather, Larry Buchanan has inspired me to become the person/athlete that I am today, I know as years go on I will discover more and looking forward to it.  My grandfather was a Collegiate athlete Division I for the Jacksonville Gamecocks playing the sport of football.  I would love to follow in the footsteps of this great man and play volleyball at the collegiate level.

I became interested in the sport of Volleyball long before I could try out for a team.  My Grandfather spoke to me often about all the teams he was part of, including track, football, baseball and volleyball I since gained a sincere interest in the sport of volleyball.

Throughout my athletic career of track, softball and volleyball they all have increased my attributes to my daily lifestyle.  I have learned to be a partner, teammate and a leader.

My academics goals in high-school are to be the best student I can.  I will continue to push myself and work hard everyday on my academics.

Volleyball has taught me to be a better listener, better motivator, and a better leader.  It has also taught me the importance of determination, persistence and patience when trying to reach my goals.

I am a 5'8" outside/defensive specialist I currently have 6 years of club volleyball experience with Caroga Lake Volleyball Club.  Along with Traveling with USA HP Indoor Teams and Camps.   I want to pursue playing competitive athletics and am open to explore opportunities at all divisions.   At this time in High School although I currently live on the East Coast while looking into colleges I am open to any and all opportunities.
