Kiera VanGulden '15 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5' 5" libero and defensive specialist from East Meadow, NY. I am entering my junior year at Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, NY. I am captain of my school’s varsity volleyball team this year, and last year I was co-captain. Although I only have 4 years of volleyball experience, because I play year round, I feel like I have much more. I have played club since I was 14 and have continually improved. I am playing this year for Sportime VBC.

Besides playing club volleyball, I also began taking private lessons in 9th grade to improve and maintain my conditioning, core strength, and to hone my skills and better myself as an athlete. I also compete in beach volleyball tournaments during the summer for fun as well as to stay in shape.

I am looking to play at the highest level possible and believe I could make an immediate positive impact on any team I play for. My dream is to play volleyball in college and I am always working to achieve that dream.
