Hello, my name is Sophia Powless. I am a Native American athlete and I love to play volleyball! I have played high school volleyball since the 8th grade and have been a varsity starter for three years while earning a 3.6 average in regents classes. Every year I have set goals for myself by playing at a higher level at every position. Although I play middle, my school allows me to play all positions. For the past 3 years, I lead my team in kills, aces, and my digging totals have increased every year. I also strive to be a positive influence on the floor providing energy, encouragement, not only to myself but to my teammates. I have been named captain since my sophomore season and all of my coaches, at high school, club volleyball, and camps have mentioned that I am extremely coach-able and I love to learn from them. My goal is to be playing college volleyball because I love to challenge myself to strive to new levels of play on the volleyball court.
