Personal Statement
In my collegiate volleyball career i am looking to improve on my skills while being part of a successful team. What makes me a good candidate for any team is that i work hard to achieve my goals. I will pour myself entirely into the volleyball program that i become a part of and not only seek to improve upon my abilities but also to my teammates. I have always enjoyed the competition and fun that sports provide, and over the years i have developed such a strong love for the game. From the first time i played in elementary school i was hooked, i couldn't get enough volleyball and was playing at every opportunity i could. When i reached middle school and the sports became a little more competitive is when i developed a passion to play. I can remember the first time i watched our schools varsity team play, all i could think was that is going to be me some day, so i began really working hard and training to be the best athlete i could possibly be. Now that varsity player is me, still improving and working hard everyday, and i couldn't be any happier.
One thing i have learned is that education comes first. I have worked very hard to achieve a 4.0 GPA and have been ranked 19 in a class of 321. Not only do i push myself on the court but in the class room also. I have always been enrolled in Honors classes and i challenge myself by taking many AP courses. I have always been very determined and focused academically and athletically while also taking on a leadership roll on and off the court. I have been chosen by my peers and coaches to be the captain of past teams i have participated in. I also participate in many extracurricular activities. I am a part of the National Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, English Honor Society, Natural Helpers Club, and Varsity Leaders Club where i participate in many community service projects. Because of my participation in community service, academic success, drive to learn and improve athletically, and love for the game, i believe i would be a great addition to any team.
