Personal Statement
I AM EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT I HAVE COMMITTED TO ROLLINS COLLEGE!
My goal for college is to be a successful student athlete. Academics are extremely important to me and I want to achieve a good balance between sports and schoolwork. I want to study health or veterinary sciences in college, ultimately leading to a career in human or animal health sciences. In addition to academics, volleyball is my passion, something that will always be a part of me. While indoor volleyball is my main sport, I also enjoy competing in sand tournaments. Coaches and teammates describe me as competitive, energetic, smart, athletic, versatile, and coachable! I like that last adjective best because it says that I take direction and adapt to what a coach wants to see in me. My positive, aggressive attitude on the court is different than most; I push myself to the brink which makes me and my team grow and shows my skills as a good teammate.
My competitive spirit comes directly from my dance and competitive figure- and synchronized-skating background. Competing in these sports taught me balance, control, and agility. I learned to truly appreciate the importance of each individual person on a team (especially with synchronized skating). I developed an athleticism and skills that continue to improve my performance on the volleyball court. Competition fuels my inner drive to be be best player possible. As an outside hitter, it is important to be an all around player and competitor which is exactly what I look to bring any team. My dream is to play at the most competitive level possible so that I will succeed in the sport I truly love.
