Erika Kerr '17 Recruiting Profile

In 7th grade, I switched from playing basketball to volleyball because I love the pace of the game and the more I play, the more I want to play. My goal is to find the right college where I can study Environmental Science and play volleyball.  I am preparing to be successful academically and athletically in college by focusing on college preparatory courses in high school and developing my volleyball skills through practice and competitive play at high levels in high school and club volleyball.

Contributing to the success of a team is important to me on and off of the court as I am also part of teams as a student government representative and as a volunteer at a stray animal adoption center.  Playing volleyball provides me with unique life experiences such as traveling and meeting people from around the country and develops tenacity, a positive attitude and willingness to help others.

My volleyball experience is preparing me to be a part of a college community by learning to communicate with a variety of people and to appreciate their differences while working together to achieve shared goals- win volleyball games and graduate from college!
